Here Today gone Tomorrow

Isaiah 40:8″ The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. “

Psalm 103:15 & 16 ” As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more and its place acknowledges it no longer. “

Many of us lack that understanding that we are but a spec in the eye of the longevity of the world. Here today and gone tomorrow, so to speak. Your days are numbered, therefore, how are you spending your time, your days your hours. Some will read this and laugh, while those that know that they are about to move on into eternity understand at a deeper level the significance of serving others, of loving your neighbor. Ask in your morning devotions. ” Lord how may I be of better service to Thee and those around me. ” Seek to serve and to over come your self. The human condition, at times, can be a struggle to over come self centeredness and the idea that you will never die. Try not to squander your days, your moments lost to self, to fear, to laziness and anxiety. Rather, overcome those tendencies that cause you to be self-centered through seeking, asking and knocking. Remember He that is, was, and shall always be loves you and seeks for you to love others.

Mid-Week Prayer: ” Lord I have wasted much of my life in selfishness, self-centeredness and fear. Help me to overcome these selfish ways. Father for forgive me. Help me to be more useful to Thee and others. Help me to fulfill Thy command to Love Thy Neighbor. Amen!!
