1 Corinthians 6:19 & 20 ” Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body. “
Once born again you are not your own. In other words, Christ is yours. He has taken you, and the fight or the difficulty is growing in that truth, in your sanctification. There is a struggle as you lessen your egotism and grow in understanding at deep levels of the Christ within you. Letting go of self, while intellectually may seem simple, but in truth there are deep rooted tendencies that can only come out through long arduous work with the Holy Spirit. Many Christians today are satisfied with secure mundane circumstances and tend not to go all the way with Christ. Thus, worldliness has taken its root in the modern Church through trends such as the prosperity gospel and alike. It is not the gifts of God we ought to yearn but Christ Himself. Your life is not your own.
Mid-Week Prayer: ” Lord it is difficult to really find a deeply dedicated group of followers that want all of You. Lord in much of my travels many of your followers are more interested in your gifts instead of loosing their selves in Thee. Lord help me to deepen the understanding that ” my life is not my own “, but Thine. Not my will but Thine be done. “
